Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling treatment. Gold-coated microneedles enter the skin at a depth your practitioner sets, then deliver bipolar radiofrequency energy once they reach that depth. The needles create the channel. The radiofrequency does the work.
That combination is what separates it from microneedling alone. Needling on its own stimulates collagen at the surface and mid layers. Adding radiofrequency creates controlled zones of thermal energy deeper in the dermis and the layer beneath it, which is where laxity actually lives. The skin responds by producing collagen and elastin over the weeks that follow, and the remodeling continues long after you leave the studio.
Because the delivery is fractional, treated zones sit between untreated ones. The untreated skin carries the healing, which is why recovery is measured in days rather than weeks.

Needle depth is adjustable, and your practitioner sets it to the area being treated and to what your skin will tolerate. Thinner skin on the neck is treated differently from the abdomen. This is why Morpheus8 is mapped at consultation rather than sold as a single fixed treatment.
Two regenerative add-ons are offered at our Toronto studio alongside needling treatments: V-Tech exosomes and salmon polydeoxyribonucleotide, usually shortened to PDRN.
Exosomes are very small vesicles released by cells. They carry proteins and genetic signalling material between cells, which is how cells communicate instructions to one another. In skin treatments they are applied topically once microchannels have been created.
Salmon PDRN is a purified fragment of DNA derived from salmon. It is used in aesthetic medicine for its role in tissue repair signalling, and it is studied for its effect on recovery after procedures that create controlled injury.
Both are applied immediately after treatment, in the window when the skin has been prepared to receive them. The intention is to work with the skin’s own repair process in the days that follow rather than to add anything to the surface.
Research into both is active and still developing, and the published evidence is stronger for PDRN than for topical exosomes. Neither is a substitute for medical care, and neither is included in the standard treatment price. Your practitioner will talk through whether an add-on suits your skin, your plan and your goals at consultation.

Mechanical microneedling. Creates microchannels to stimulate collagen at the surface and mid layers. No heat, which makes it the gentler of the two and a better fit for sensitive skin. Strong on texture, scarring and pore size.
Microneedling plus bipolar radiofrequency. Reaches deeper and adds a thermal element, which is what allows it to address laxity as well as texture. More downtime, and a stronger treatment.
If your concern is texture, scarring or pores, SkinPen is often enough. If your concern is that the skin itself has loosened, Morpheus8 is the one that reaches that layer. Your practitioner will tell you honestly which one your skin needs, including when the answer is neither.
Morpheus8 is an enhancement, not a replacement for the RRR Face. The RRR Method remains our signature ritual: Reroute, Release, Resculpt. Many clients pair Morpheus8 with lymphatic facial sculpting, which supports comfort and recovery around the treatment, so the two work together rather than compete.
There is downtime with Morpheus8, and we would rather you plan for it than be surprised by it. Skin is typically red and feels warm for a few days. A fine grid pattern can be visible for several days and settles.
Morpheus8 is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with a pacemaker or other electronic implant, with metal implants in the treatment area, with an active skin infection or breakout in the area, with a history of keloid scarring, or within six months of isotretinoin. Recent injectables, peels, laser treatment or facial surgery all require a waiting interval. A full medical intake is completed before any treatment, and we will decline where it is not appropriate.
