Released from the inside. Then rerouted, so what you released has somewhere to go.
Buccal massage is intra-oral massage. A practitioner works the muscles of the mid face and jaw from inside the mouth, through the cheek wall, reaching tissue that cannot be worked from the surface. At Sous La Face in West Hollywood, buccal massage is not sold on its own. It is the Release stage of the RRR™ Method, delivered inside the RRR™ Face.
The masseter and the buccinator sit deep in the face and are reachable only from inside the mouth. A gloved practitioner works them directly, along with the surrounding fascia. It is the most direct way to address the muscles that shape the lower and mid face.
Our full explanation of the anatomy, what the technique reaches and what it can and cannot do is in our guide to buccal massage.
Releasing tension and doing nothing else is half the work. Tissue that has been worked releases fluid, and fluid with nowhere to go sits in the face.
That is why buccal massage sits in the middle of the RRR™ Method rather than on its own. We Reroute first, so the lymphatic pathways are open. We Release second, which is where the buccal work happens. We Resculpt third. The order is the method, and it is the reason a Sous La Face treatment is sixty minutes rather than a bolt on.
The Release stage. Worked from inside the cheek, then rerouted.
People who clench. People who hold the day in the jaw. People who feel tight through the cheek and temple, or who want more definition through the mid face and jawline. It suits anyone comfortable with firm, specific work, and it is one of the most requested treatments before an event.
Firm and specific. Where you hold the most tension it can feel intense, but it should never be sharp. You can speak throughout, and the pressure changes the moment you say so.
Afterwards, mild tenderness through the jaw for a day is normal. Most people see definition through the cheek and jawline the same day. There is no downtime and nothing that stops you going out that evening.
Buccal massage does not reduce muscle mass the way an injectable does, and it does not change bone or the position of the fat pads. It works with tension and with fluid. If what we are seeing is structural rather than tension held in the tissue, we will tell you.
Includes the buccal work.
More hands on time.
As an add on. Call the studio to book it.
The 75 minute treatments differ by what is added. The Ultimate RRR™ Face adds time with a practitioner. Glow, Clear and Renew add a modality on top of the manual work.
A single visit is $259. RRR™ Essential membership is $229 a month and includes one RRR™ treatment, so your first month costs less than one visit. Optimal is $449 a month and includes two.

It is firm and can feel intense where you hold the most tension, but it should never be sharp. Tell your practitioner and the pressure changes immediately.
Yes. It is one of the most common reasons people book it. Buccal work reaches the masseter and buccinator from inside the mouth, where the muscles that hold clench and TMJ tension sit, and where nothing worked from outside the face can reach. It is delivered by practitioners trained in the RRR™ Method. We support TMJ relief. We do not diagnose or treat the joint itself.
Often, yes. Jaw clenching and temporalis tension are a common driver of tension headaches, and many clients who get migraines book for the same muscular tension. We release the jaw, temples and cervical chain. We do not treat or prevent migraine, and we are not a substitute for medical care.
No. Buccal massage is delivered within the RRR™ Face, because releasing tension without also moving fluid does half the work.
Most people see definition for several days. Tension returns at the rate you rebuild it, which is why consistency matters more than intensity.
Yes, with timing. Tell us what you have had and when. If you have had anything in the past two weeks, book after that window.
Yes. Same day or the day before both work, and it is one of the most requested pre event treatments at the West Hollywood studio.
Usually, through the cheek and jawline. The change is definition rather than transformation. You still look like you.
Every two to four weeks suits most people. Members typically come monthly.
Yes, at the Yorkville studio, delivered the same way inside the RRR™ Face.
